Just had a weekend staying in the Novotel on Collins in Melbourne. That’s just such a great part of town. Wandering thru the Block and other arcades and checking out the redevelopment of the old Melbourne Post office - it’s all architectually beautiful. Great shops and interesting stuff everywhere. From now on it’s where i will take visitors from interstate and overseas - I think it’s a great slice of traditional Melbourne, perfectly preserved.

You have a naughty weekend in Melbourne and right away you have to rush on-line to brag about it… talk about kiss and tell. We have a great city, more Nookers need to do the city for two days it can be a great break from the ‘burbs.
Collins St is gold. Could you imagine any other street in Melbourne preserve the way Collins St is? It’s just a work of art - and classy plus!!!
Ohhh the Novotel on Collins is great isnt it?! Such a good location!! I stayed there with my boyfriend last year, it’s amazing what you can find in your own backyard if you take the time to look and check out all the little laneways!!
What a shame though if you have to go into Swanston Street, enough to turn tourists straight back home. It’s like the seedy bazaars you see in old spy movies set in the middle east or the orient! Still, some people find that exotic, no accounting for taste!
Hate to be the misery, I used to love going into the city, but the last 10 -12 years I think it’s gone down the gurgler, it’s just a dirty hole and an embarassment, what tourist must think, I don’t know.
